Recommended Ceiling Fan Size
For higher ceilings an extension rod will lower the fan to optimal position within the room about eight or nine feet off the floor.

Conversely spaces in the home with limited ceiling to floor height think bedrooms offices breakfast nooks etc require a low profile or flushmount ceiling fan. If you have a regular sized bedroom of 144 to 225 square feet then a medium ceiling fan with a blade span of 44 to 50 inches will be a great fit.
