Painting Basement Ceiling
It s a lot of times faster than using drywall.
Painting basement ceiling. Reasons we decided on a painted basement ceiling budget. Fred told me of his tentative plans to paint his open basement ceiling dark brown. We haven t finished our walls yet so we didn t worry about.
Airless spraying seemed the only viable option to achieve this and fred offered me the use of his wagner airless sprayer. Set against white painted panels and beams all the natural grain in the lightly stained wood. Buy a good paint sprayer.
Light colors will make the room look brighter and will visually raise the space but white is hard to keep clean. Paint spraying your basement ceiling is the fastest option you got. A dark color works especially well for this because it helps the ceiling look like it recedes.
A small sprayer just ain t gonna cut it for a 1 000 sq ft job. We did framing and electrical ourselves but we hired out the drywall. The cost of painting it instead was much much smaller.
Tarp everything you can t remove from the room. Start in a corner and move down one line of joists moving back and forth slightly for even coverage. I highly recommend a heavy duty paint sprayer if you plan to tackle this job.
After the primer is dry paint the area with two coats of ceiling paint. It s all in the preparation. Instead opt for a cream or light gray shade.
